A Trip Down Memory Lane: Part 3

Winter 2009

My 'lil bug seeing the snow for the first time-- she loved it!!
I think this picture is precious =)

Grady pulling Connor on the sled... After this we took Connor to the park so he could go down a big hill on his sled. He went went down with Grady the first few times and then by himself. When he got back to the top of the hill he said, "Momma, on the way down I said holy-moly, awesome-blossom, and then I said a bad word! Oh and I said Ooo-rah too!"

Miss Ansley opening her Christmas presents!! Look at that face...

Grady and Ansley at the park-- she is a daddy's girl!!

A Trip Down Memory Lane: Part 2

The Summer of '09 bittersweet-- it was the first time Grady had taken any leave since we moved to Illinois!! We enjoyed our time in Texas with family and friends-- fishing, visiting, laughing, making special memories... Grady and I didn't want to leave but he had to return back to work and I had to snap back in reality. Saying good-bye to the one's you love is NEVER easy-- you just get use to it and know that next time you see them it will be that much MORE special (does that make since?)...

Fall 2009
I am a huge Fall/Winter person. I love to decorate the house for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas!! Grady doesn't understand BUT dressing up with my kids on Halloween and making a tent in the living room and telling ghost stories will NEVER get old to me =)

At least I got Grady to sit on the porch and take a picture with the kiddos... I think his lack of Halloween spirit is why this picture is sideways-- its okay Grady we still love you!!

This one is a summertime photo-- not sure how it snuck in with the fall pics BUT I love it so I will leave it ; )

This is one of my ALL TIME favorite pictures...
These kids get an A for Amazing!!

Ansley was an 80's rocker for Halloween!! I found the outfit, threw together the hair bow and it was precious!! Little girls are soooo much fun to dress up AND yes she wears the tutu with everyday clothes from time to time too--I couldn't resist!!

Connor was Bumblee the Transformer for Halloween!! He had to take his mask off everytime we went up for candy to explain to people he was really Connor Bruce wearing a costume... I took him trick-or-treating while Grady and Ansley stayed home and passed out candy =)
Since I can only upload 5 pics per blog you'll have to come back and check out the winter pictures...
To be continued...

A Trip down Memory Lane...

Can you believe that 2009 is almost over? It has been an amazing year for the Parr Family!!
Take a look at our journey to 2010

This is me 8 months pregnant with Ansley... I look like I swallowed a basketball!!

And 2 weeks later...
on March 5 th a precious baby girl was born-- Ansley Belle Parr!! I believe she is my little piece of heaven on earth ; )
My Nanny and sister flew to Chicago just in time-- Miss Ansley was born 4 days AHEAD of schedule...

Connor Bruce has been THE GREATEST BIG BROTHER!! My little man turned 4 years old in April... This child keeps me on my toes-- he always has something clever to say at just the WRONG time... For instance, one day I had been asking him to clean his room REPEATEDLY (I was getting frustrated and he could tell) I yelled, "Connor get this room clean NOW!" and he replied, "Yes, Mrs. Puff!" I had to turn away so he wouldn't see me laughing...

This summer Connor "got his Kaylee back"... They have such a good time together AND it never takes long for them to pick up right where they left off. These two are soooo much ALIKE-- its crazy!!

Kaylee, Connor, and Ansley together the summer of '09...
This summer was eventful- I traveled to Texas on my own with Connor and Ansley. It really was an amazing experience and I couldn't have asked for two better kids... Ansley slept most of the way and Connor either slept or talked to me about the shapes he saw in the clouds. Connor didn't get cranky until we were about 2 hours from Quanah AND he had had enough and wanted to go back to CHICAGO. I couldn't explain to him we were SOOO close to being in Texas at that point BUT when he saw Nanny and Pawpaw's house he was super excited (so was I)!

Foto Friday.... Again!!

Connor loves the snow and his favorite thing to
do is make snow angels...

I have to share a cute story... This morning Connor crawled in bed with Grady and I and said, "Momma, my throat hurts, my head hurts, and before its all over I'm sure my feelings will hurt too!" I have know idea where he comes up with the things he says BUT he is my little comedian.

Tis the Season: Its All About Tradition Part 2

Today is the first official SNOW DAY!! It looks like Old Man Winter is here to stay for awhile. I would much rather be somewhere sunny and warm, however, WE make the best of it!! A new tradition I started this year is making Chex Muddy Buddies on the first day of snowfall. The recipe is simple AND on the back of the Chex cereal box...

9 cups Chex cereal

1 cup choclate chips

4TBS butter

1tsp Vanilla

1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar

Melt, Mix, Shake, and EAT!!

Short and Sweet...

For those of you who know my wonderful husband know that it isn't often he SAYS something that melts my heart ( I know he thinks it but he just doesn't say things often).

"Wanna know why I love you so much?" "I love you because YOU are everything than I am not!" -- Grady Parr

Thought it was sweet and had to share =) I love this man!!

Hope you all have a GREAT weekend!!

Tis the Season: Its all about tradition

So, in my last post I mentioned that someone showed up on our doorstep Saturday morning: It was "Scout" the elf!! He was sent by Santa Claus from the NorthPole to sit on our mantle-- his job is to watch over Connor and Ansley and report their good and bad behavior back to Santa.

Its sooo much fun to have little one's who enjoy the simple things in life!!

Connor thought Scout was real cool BUT he hasn't figured out exactly how he deliver's his messages to Santa. Scout can't talk, afterall!! I just told him he travels back to the NorthPole at night while he is sleeping!! * I have to be on my toes with ALL the questions a 4-year-old asks*
